Go to the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and select Processes. See if there is a process with the Walliant name or anything close to it and if there is, right-click it, open the File Location, and delete the folder you get sent to.

If there isn’t a process with that, look for other suspiciously-named entries, especially ones that have high CPU and virtual memory consumption, and look up their names on the Internet to find out if they may be malicious. Also open their file locations and scan the files in them with the next free online scanner – if one or more of the files are detected to be rogue, this means that the process is malicious as well.

If it turns out that the suspected process may be a threat, stop it and delete its File Location folder.

Use the Start menu to search for msconfig, open the first shown app, and select the Startup tab in its window. There, look for anything that you think maybe from Walliant and uncheck it. Also, uncheck any other entries that you are not familiar with or that have “Unknown” in the Manufacturer column. After that, click OK so that the changes you’ve made would be saved.

Next, open This Computer/Computer, go to the hard drive where your Windows OS is installed (it’s usually the C: drive) and find and open the following folder: Windows/System32/drivers/etc. In that folder, there should be a file named Hosts – double-click it and then click on Notepad to open the file with it.

Next, see what (if anything) is written below the last “Localhost” word. If there is any text or IPs there, copy them, paste them in the comments and wait for us to reply to your comment. We will soon let you know if your Hosts file has been hijacked by the Trojan and if you should delete that text from it.

Step 6

Search for the regedit.exe app in the Start Menu, click it, and select Yes if you are required to give your Admin permission.

Next, press Ctrl + F, type Walliant, and click the Find Next button. Delete the first item that gets found, search for the next one, and continue like that until you’ve deleted all Walliant entries and there are no more search results.

After that, manually find the following Registry directories in the left panel and delete them:

Вымогатель по имени Робин Гуд (RobbinHood) впервые был обнаружен в 2018 году. Опасная программа получала полный доступ к компьютеру жертвы, шифровала файлы и требовала выкуп в размере 10 000 долларов. Мало того, если пользователь не оплачивал в указанный срок, сумма выкупа увеличивалась ежедневно на те же 10 000 долларов. Ещё в 2018 году звучали подозрения, что виной всему драйвера Gigabyte, но только сейчас компания признала свою вину. Заражение происходит следующим способом: исполняемый файл Steel.exe, который находится в пакете Gigabyte gdrv.sys, распаковывает файл ROBNR.EXE, который отвечает за установку самого драйвера от Gigabyte и вредоносного ПО.

Первым делом Робин Гуд удаляет антивирус. Эксперты по безопасности Sophos заявляют, что они впервые видят такой уровень атаки.
