Что означает мем «yee»?
Мем «yee» пришел из итальянской версии мультфильма «Приключения динозавров». Он означает что-то среднее между «yes» и восклицанием типа «yeaaaaah!» — эмоциональное согласие и радость. На русском звучит как «Йии!».
Стоит отметить, что на языке оригинала этот возглас звучит как «peek» (переводится «оглянись»), но почему-то итальянские переводчики решили превратить его в сленговое выражение «yee», которое имеет другое значение. Впрочем, пользователи интернета все равно интерпретировали его по-своему.
За производство мультика отвечает студия Dingo Pictures. «Приключения динозавров» считаются аналогом более известного и высокобюджетного мультфильма «Земля до начала времен», а про итальянскую версию долгое время никто не знал. Но в 2010 году YouTube-пользователь Celyciah выложил отрывок из «Приключений», где анкилозавр Пих жалуется своему брату Оро на то, что мама и папа завели нового ребенка и теперь не обращают на него внимания. В ответ звучит междометие «Yee!» и успокаивающие фразы о том, что родители любят всех своих детей одинаково. Это стало началом зарождения нового мема.
Но самое главное случилось спустя два года, когда на YouTube пользователь revergo решил поделиться своим творчеством, смонтировав отрывок из «Приключений динозавров» со своим треком и фразой «Yee!». И случайно получилось так, что видео стало вирусным и собрало 56 миллионов просмотров.
А в 2014 году его опубликовали на Reddit, и пользователи начали создавать множество пародий с динозавриками.

Откуда взялся мем «ЪУЪ СЪУКА»
ЪУЪ Съука (Cursed Cat, Черный кот с руками) — мем с черным котом и пририсованными руками, который грозно говорит «ъуъ съука».
Шаблон мема — это отфотошопленное фото с черным котом на фоне двух британских полицейских. Изображение впервые было опубликовано на сайте Getty Images 12 ноября 2008 года.
По неизвестной причине обрезанная картинка с котом стала вирусной, ее использовали для иллюстрации новостных публикаций.
В ноябре 2018 года кто-то отфотошопил кота, сделав его двуногим. При этом животное обзавелось двумя руками, поднятыми вверх. Такую картинку впервые опубликовал в твиттере пользователь @pinchenic, пишет Know Your Meme.
1 декабря изображение разместили в фейсбук-группе Cursed Images («Проклятые картинки»). Так началось его вирусное распространение.
В январе 2019 года в рунете начал набирать популярность мем «ъуъ съука» с тем самым котом. Точно неизвестно, кто придумал наложить эту надпись на картинку с котом. Но мемы подобного плана стали распространяться в самых разных пабликах с абстрактным контентом.
В марте 2019 года мем с проклятым котом пришел на Запад. Все началось с поста на Reddit — пользователь Norixon опубликовал картинку, сделав ее более «шумной» и заменив надпись «ъуъ съука» на «angry as fuk» («Злой как херъ»).

Запись набрала почти 28 тысяч апвоутов, а вскоре аналогичные мемы заполонили раздел r/dankmemes и другие ветки сайта.
Мем «ъуъ съука» относится к категории абстрактных и не несет особой смысловой нагрузки. Но часто к нему добавляют дополнительные надписи. И тогда злой ругающийся кот становится чем-то вроде реакции на несправедливость и всякие неприятные вещи.
Баянометр ругался очень сильно, но похожих постов я не нашла.

I used to be with ‘it’. But, now ‘it’ is ‘yeet’, and with it I am not.
The speed of light is faster than the speed of sound. With this considered, it makes sense that I saw «yeet» before I heard it.
«Time to eat,» the meme in my Facebook feed began, captioning a picture of a man holding a sandwich.
Then, the punchline.
The man had thrown the sandwich. I did not get the joke.
In the weeks that followed, it started to see yeet everywhere. Hear it, too.
«Yeet!» – a person I went to uni with commenting on her friend’s Instagram photo.
«Yeet!» – a young male stranger sitting near me in the cinema at the end of the trailer for Emily Blunt’s new horror film, A Quiet Place.
«Yeet!» – my 17-year-old sister at our family Easter gathering.
Desperate to understand what was going on, I slid into my sister’s DMs.
«What is ‘yeet’?» I asked.
«It’s like an excited yes.»
«Sort of. It’s like ‘yaaas’ but for younger people.»
Who do I contact at UNESCO to register my 24-year-old self as a heritage-protected ancient ruin?
With further questioning, my sister said yeet «normally accentuates a poor decision or dumb idea».
«It’s more like ‘yes’ in the sense that ‘Amen’ is yes – like you’re acknowledging something.»
That doesn’t seem like an excited yes. That seems more like a «yolo» (the acronym of the aphoristic «you only live once» which was popular circa 2012). How can a word be used for both excitement and emotionless acknowledgement?

With my sister’s free period ending, I was forced to look for answers elsewhere.
Typing «yeet» into Google reveals what is probably the strangest thing about the term: like a mid-2000s television show, Australia received yeet about three years after the US.
A 2015 Bustle article tracks the development of yeet, described at the time as a «viral meme».
It started its life as the name of a dance, popularised on Vine (yes, this cool new thing is actually so old it came to life on a social media platform that has been closed for over a year). The dance was most famously performed by a 13-year-old called Lil Meatball (unlikely his legal name) in February 2014.
Here is the human Hors d’oeuvre in action:
Urban Dictionary says yeet is «especially used in basketball when someone has shot a three-pointer that they are sure will go in the hoop». This is probably a derivation from the dance, during which the dancer calls out «yeet» when making a throwing action with their arms.
On Wiktionary, the term is additionally considered as a verb, meaning to «humiliate» or «be better than».
«Ohhh! You were yeeted, my dude!» the website offers as a frankly useless example of how to use it in a sentence.
Because, this is what is so frustrating about «yeet»: no one really knows what it means.
As an exclamation, yeet broadly means «yes». But it can also be a greeting, or just an impassioned grunt, like a spoken dab.*
In verb form, yeet’s meanings are more disparate. I have heard people describe themselves as «yeeting around» to mean both meandering and excelling.
One early-twenties friend I spoke to said she used yeeting to essentially mean transgressing. For her, to yeet is to fare evade, or jaywalk. Another said yeeting around was synonymous with «hanging out».
An honest friend admitted he just used yeet as a «placeholder verb» and, despite saying it constantly, didn’t really know what it meant.
I, too, have begun to question if yeet even has a meaning. Is this new phrase – seemingly appropriated from African-American culture like «yaaas» and «woke» before it – just a blank tile on the Scrabble board of youth banter?
And how did I manage to miss its rise?
Professor Nick Enfield, from the University of Sydney’s linguistics department, says new words are typically borrowed from other languages or used to describe a new invention. They are then introduced to a new community by an individual.
«What’s revolutionary about the Internet is that you don’t have to meet someone on the street to hear a word like ‘yeet’, you can see it online,» he says.
For Professor Enfield, the algorithmic process through which this happens is interesting.
«There are a million Vine videos of someone saying something that never took off,» he says. «Part of it is just random but, if you were able to trace the origin you would find that whoever picked up the original term and brought it to a new audience was well connected, with lots of followers.»
No-one I spoke to for this article had started saying yeet much before this year. Clearly, at some point in recent history, a piece of online content entered the right feeds, and some Australian young people were exposed to it. Alternatively, the online tastes of some Australian young people changed, such that they started engaging with yeet-saying spaces.
As for the word’s ability to seemingly mean everything and nothing, Professor Enfield says it is not uncommon for words to communicate something about their user, rather than be a sensical form of communication in their own right.
«When it comes to a word that is completely new, like ‘yeet’. if you hear someone say it for the first time, you can probably get a sense of what they mean by it, but if you see someone confidently using it, and their mates kind of agreeing or not questioning it, then you as a listener become aware that you’re not part of that group,» he says.
«You feel like you better find out what it means so that, the next time someone uses it, you know how to respond.»

Yeet is a choreographed dance stylized by dipping one’s shoulder in rhythmic steps with both hands out in front and knees bent as if the performer is riding a bicycle. It became popular in February 2014 after footage of people performing the dance were uploaded to the video-sharing sites Vine and YouTube. In recent years, the term «yeet» has adopted a meaning of launching or throwing something at a high velocity or exclamation of doing so.
Origin
While little is known as of yet about the story behind the dance, Houston, Texas-based producer and video blogger Marquis Trill [5] has credited five individuals @1ballout_ @Thefuhkinmann @KronicCaviar @AXXXXJXY @JollyceM @SmashBro_KB as the creators of the Yeet. On February 28th, 2014, the hip hop song «Yeet» by Quill featuring Showtime & Yeet Squad was uploaded to YouTube (shown below).
On March 1st, 2014, a Facebook [1] page titled «Yeet Dance» was launched, gaining over 29,000 likes in the first month. On March 14th, YouTuber MarQuis Trill uploaded a video demonstrating how to perform the yeet dance (shown below, left). On the same day, YouTuber Denzel Meechie uploaded a music video titled «Official #Yeet,» featuring the purported creators of yeet identified by their Twitter feeds @1Ballout_ [3] and @SmashBro_KB [4] (shown below, right).
Lil Meatball Vine
On March 20th, Viner Jasmine Nicole uploaded a Vine video of a young boy nicknamed «Lil Meatball» performing the dance at a school track (shown below). Within two weeks, the video gathered upwards of 122,000 revines and 104,000 likes.
On March 29th, Viner Noe Vazquez uploaded a remix of the vine dubbed with part of the rap song «A Milli» by Lil Wayne (shown below, left). On April 1st, Viner amvzinrnc uploaded a version of the video with guns edited into Lil Meatball’s hands (shown below, right).
On the same day, the hip hop news blog Hip Hop Wired [2] posted a compilation of notable photoshopped images featuring an exploitable cutout of Lil Meatball from the Vine video (shown below).
