В итоге человека 3 года кормили обещаниями о высокой зарплате, новой должности, а в итоге уволили за то, что «продавал только товары бюджетного класса».

Было это году в 89-м. Дали мне шестилетнему шкету родители рубль и сказали после того, как погуляю купить хлеба и молока.
Рядом с нашим домом впритык была стройка. Дом уже стоял и шло благоустройство, отмостку делали, асфальтировали, малые формы устанавливали.
Это я сейчас такие умные слова знаю. А тогда, стою я перед выровненным блестящим слоем бетона, солнышко отражается на бетонном молочке. Не знаю, что мною двигало, но первый шаг сделали будто не мои ноги. Прохерачил я в своих сандальках по всей свежей бетонной площадке и напоследок упал рядом в большую лужу, оставшуюся после дождя.
Одежду разложили тоже на кабине, на солнце она очень быстро высохла. Только сандали чуть влажные остались. Одели, по жопе для проформы один раз шлепнули легонько, за порчу бетонной площадки. И пошёл я в магазин, за хлебом и молоком. Дома меня не спалили)
Они потом ещё месяц наверно там работали. Я все к ним ходил, то воды из дома принесу, то в магазин сбегаю что-то купить. Все принимали серьёзно, как помощь.

So, let’s imagine a normal human being.
And let’s call him Bill. He is not very good in Maths, just “not good”, but he loves candies!
Your task is to teach Bill some basic(or magic) IT things, you are doing every day. The simplest ones.
So what shall you do first? Basically — FEED HIM!
Feed him!
Long story short, but one day Andrey Alexandrescu asked Bill:
— Andrey: Hi Bill, do you want a candy?
— Bill: Yep, sure!
Then Bill got the candy, unwrapped it from Candy wrapper and ate the payload.
Simple? And we have used two magic words!
Just a few days later Wirth asked Bill:
— Wirth: Hi Bill, do you want a candy?
— Bill: Yep! SURE!
— Wirth: Hey, I’ve got another one, do you want it too?
— Bill: Yep! SURE!
This is a condition-controlled loop, or a cycle.

This operation or sequence is called LIFO — Last it, First out. As long the candy from the bottom of the pack will be eaten last.
At the same time, Bill`s digestion is a FIFO — first in, first out. You had to know it before.
Donald_Knuth also joined the feeding team. But one day he got tired of buying new candies for Bill, and he asked a catering company to do it.

The Cake is a Lie is a catchphrase popularized by the game Portal, and is often used to convey the message that a promised gift is being used to motivate without any intent of delivering.
Origin
In Portal you are required to do numerous tasks in a research facility guided by a computer named GlaDOS, who repeatedly mentions that following the experiment, there will be cake.
As the game progresses, the player finds messages written on the walls as warnings from Doug Rattmann, an old lab worker who has been featured on the Lab Rat [7] comic series. One message scrawled on the walls in later levels reads «the cake is a lie. the cake is a lie. the cake is a lie. the cake is a lie»:
It is later revealed in the game, that in order to keep the AI GlaDOS from killing everyone, she is fitted with an AI «personality core» that continuously list off the directions and ingredients needed for baking a cake. In addition, the ending credits sequence that follows the game features a song called, «Still Alive» which mentions the cake and features a sole cake at the bottom of the test facility. This cake is a virtualized cartoon version of a Black Forest cake that was sold near Valve Headquarters.
From Reference to Idiom
After the game’s release, «the cake is a lie» was widely popular between Portal players, but soon it spread to forums and blogs where the phrase began to take on a new meaning outside of the context of the game. People were using the phrase, «The cake is a lie», on forums as an idiom meaning, «You are chasing after an empty, unattainable goal.»
